Rest assured there is plently of top room the tight spot will be the left (key) side front fender support bolt head. Espicially if you have saddle bag supports. I was able to find flat head allen bolts to replace the hex head ones that rubbed on mine. You will find a variation between brands in the same size as to width and height. The 3rd tire on mine (Dunlop) was the same size but much wider in construction than the 2nd (Metzler) and both were the 140/90 rather than the 140/80 OEM size. Strange because the system is supposed to mean the tire is 180mm in cross section with a height of 80 or 90 % of the width. Seems they grow width wise also. Doesn't surpise me as automotive and truck tires vary all over between brands for the same size and aspect ratio (%) Just curious, why do you need tires on an 03 aready, or are you a high mileage rider. Seems like 7-9K miles is average to replace the orginal rear tire depening on how enthustic the bike is ridden.
